Boys Town National Research Institute (NRI)

The Boys Town National Research Institute (NRI) has been conducting applied research since 1989. Our research work ranges from evaluating specific intervention programs to discovering new knowledge on risk and protective factors related to child maltreatment, mental health and educational problems of youth and the effectiveness of Boys Town's In-Home Family Services.

At the core of the National Research Institute is a staff of research scientists and analysts who are dedicated to ensuring the programs and methods deployed by Boys Town continue to bring positive and lasting change to the lives of those who we have served. They come from a variety of professional and academic backgrounds, have expertise in youth and family care and write extensively for scientific and professional publications.

As the landscape of child care and family assistance constantly evolves, the NRI continues to seek the best approaches for its research. The institute recently expanded Boys Town’s research collaboration with scientists, practitioners and other third-party experts. These partnerships provide external validation of the NRI’s methods, and continually inject industry-leading thought into Boys Town’s research.
