Boys Town New England Celebrates 90th Anniversary By Giving Back

Boys Town New England’s 90th Anniversary Celebration was fitting for the organization that does so much to save children and heal families.

Two boxes of dry and canned goods were given to a local food bank, all donated by the attendees of the celebration. “It’s important for our organization to give back to a community that gives so much to us,” said Bill Reardon, Executive Director of Boys Town New England. “The best way for our children to show how grateful they are for what’s been given to them is to help those who need it.”

Continuing to help those in need is what Boys Town has done for 90 years, and the new brand and tagline reinforces Boys Town’s dedication to saving children and helping families. Revealed to the Boys Town New England staff before the celebration event at 5 p.m., the image was received with excitement.

“The name change was very well received by everyone,” said Reardon. “People were genuinely pleased we are going back to Boys Town.”

After the big announcement, everyone went outside to officially start the Christmas season with caroling and the lighting of the Christmas tree. Onlookers looked in awe at the beautiful glow the lights created on campus.

As the kids blew out the candles on the cake, excitement was evident about a brighter future for America’s children and families.

“Everyone is very excited that ‘saving children - healing families’ is now included in our mission,” said Reardon. “After all, our goal is to preserve the family unit.”
